Odds and ends

Well, the Lions tanked last night.  So, on to something better.

We were in the cariboo earlier this month.  The forest fires in the cariboo were and still are pretty horrific.  Smoke in our area was on and off.  This is a picture Dan took of the sun one afternoon when it was particularly smoky:

When we were at the property in July Dan installed the headstone he had made up for his dad.  It is set up in the middle of the circular driveway.  This area is also one of Brooke's favorite lounging areas.

We had some great weather that trip.

Dan had a freeloader hanging around him:

And this is our humble home away from home (not a very good shot).

We have some work to do but all in good time.  Don't want to rush anything.  Heck, nobody up there does anything in a hurry!  I went to the local store one day to pick up a few things.  When it was my turn to pay, after waiting in line for about 10 minutes because it was busy and everyone needs to chat, I handed the clerk my debit card.  She says "oh, I'm sorry, our debit machine is down.  But don't worry, it only happens when we are busy."  Um, yeah okthen.

Lions v Calgary

The game has only just begun.  I am optimistic.  He's not - but that's okay because if he goes outside I will just shut and lock the door!  Here's a picture from one of our grey cup tours.

Grey Cup fun

Grey cup bling  (rough estimate - I've probably worn more Grey Cup rings than any CFL'er.  I'm thinking 15+)  Thanks Mark W for this one:

And, a small sample of Grey Cup garb:

And, can you figure out what this is?

Some of the 'hood

Our first full day on our property and mother nature had something to say  - May 22ish!

Two days later we met the noisy neighbors:

Squatters:

This is Brooke after a day of ridding the property of squatters:

Yeah, she's still breathing.

But, we all like these visitors:

And, Brooke telling Dan to 'getouttahere'!

Notice the airhorn?  Hopefully it helps to keep the bears away.

Our other home

We (him, me and her) are happy to have recreational property in the beautiful cariboo.  So, this is the sign I painted - with five Q-tips and one paint brush.  Now that's roughing it.

And, here's two out of three of us mentioned in the name:

We are sitting on 13 acres, nearly in the middle of no where.  I've encountered a bear (EEK - I'll post on that later), and we had a small fire very close by - a big thank you to the volunteer fire department.

Stay tuned for more!

Greetings

The 'princess' at her new property.  This is new to me ('this' being blogging) so have some patience but stay tuned for tales from the cariboo.  And probably rants about the Lions and anything else that gets on my nerves (except the hubby!).
